I have done a lot of stuff but never found anything I’m good at…except possibly riding motorbikes. That’s the thing I love and have always loved since my teens. Before that it was the larger British beetles and moths …though not butterfies.
Oh and cryptic crossword puzzles.
The rest of it, the systems analysis, network consultancy, the teaching, the gardening round, the wildly differing music things, relationships, finance…the normal stuff of life have been a struggle. I’m sure they are hard for everybody but I seem to be less domesticated than most, with a short attention span; a natural at nothing. The only things I’m good at are spotting patterns and riding. You can put ‘mostly retired’ before all the others.
Which makes me a cruciverbalist biker… a small MC with only one chapter and maybe ony one fully patched member.
So I’m going to spend some time writing new things and collecting together old things on this, infrequently updated set of pages.
When you see me on a stage be aware that I am watching you more intently than you can ever know. That’s why I am there.
P.S I play the French horn with a drum stick, like a cowbell; so please don’t ask me to do orchestral or session work
